What’s New at LCS

petersen@lafayettecharter.k12.mn.us

I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend. Below are a few reminders for LCS families:

PROS (Parents Reaching for Students)

Parent/Guardian Volunteers Needed:

LCS PROS is a parent/teacher group that plans, organizes and gathers volunteers to run the events and fundraising for Lafayette Charter School. We are a non-profit 501(C) (3) organization. Each parent of LCS is a part of our organization and all parents are welcome to attend PROS board meetings which are held monthly.  As a parent your input and suggestions are always welcomed. PROS are involved in many “Clip & Save” programs for our school, such as: Box Tops, UPCs, HyVee UPCs, Cashwise checkout receipts, Target Rewards, ink cartridges, Coke Codes and more! There is a bin across from the restrooms at school to drop off these items. We will send in items two or three times a year depending on minimums by the vendors.  These programs net over $1000 each year. This is a very lucrative project for each LCS family and their extended families to be involved in. We all use these products or services. It is as simple as clipping, saving and sending to school with your child.

We are looking forward to an exciting school year with great parental input and assistance with all of our projects! If you cannot make it to a meeting at school, we will go live via Zoom. Please let us know if you’re interested!

Distance Learning: Meals

Families who have signed up for meals during distance learning can pick them up the first day of the school week, anytime after 3pm.

Distance Learning: Homework Returns

Students who are distance learning, be sure to turn in all homework by the end of each week. If you have any questions, contact your child’s teacher.

REMINDER: Pre-K tuition is due the 1st of every month. If you haven’t paid for Aug./Sept, please do so asap. Thank you!

Please label masks, water bottles, lunch bags etc.

SAVE THE DATE

Thursday, September 17th – We will have our annual parent input meeting at 6:00pm.  We want to encourage you to come, we will discuss our In-Person Learning Model, programs, schedules, and concerns you may have.  This is a great chance for us to hear from you – the stakeholders – and work together in creating goals and plans for the future of LCS.  Please come if you are able.
