What’s New at LCS 

I would like to give a big congratulations and thank you to all our students for their hardwork and dedication for completing NWEA testing. This week, we will begin AIMS testing. Thank you parents/guardians for your support and encouragment at home. Tuesday, Sept. 29th marks our mid-term for 1st quarter.  If you have any questions about your child’s progress, please contact your child’s teacher.

Nicollet County Cares

Nicollet County Health and Human Services continues to have funding opportunities available to help Nicollet County residents with costs related to child care, housing, utilities, and other crisis needs related to COVID-19. We would like to send a thank you to Dave & Sandy Burger of Lafayette for the “facelift” to the memory garden in front of the school. They replaced the plants, added mulch and new benches. It looks beautiful! Thank you for giving students  & community members of Lafayette a peaceful place for reflection. 

Academic Calendar Changes

There are 2 upcoming events listed on our academic calendar that are canceled due to COVID restrictions:

School Board Elections

LCS School Board Elections will be held Tuesday, October 20th from 3-6pm in the gymnasium. If you’re interested in running for board, please complete an application and submit a biography to Mrs. Petersen at by October 12th. Applications can be found at under Board Membership-search school board application.

REMINDER: Pre-K tuition is due the 1st of every month. 

Please label masks, water bottles, lunch bags etc. 


Job Posting- Technology Coordinator

Lafayette Public Charter School is now accepting applications for a Technology Coordinator. This is a part-time position. Knowledge with SMART boards, Apple Products, website maintenance, basic troubleshooting, testing set-up and serving on the Technology committee is required.
