What’s New at LCS
Last Wednesday, the LCS students and staff spent an hour in the morning remembering Mrs. Petersen by making windsocks. When we asked the students about memories of Mrs. Petersen, they all remember her by her smile, love for agriculture, teaching and her artistic and writing talents. It was great seeing so many staff, families, friends and students attend her memorial service. She will be greatly missed by all!
Thank you to Mrs. Naomi Johnson for taking our fall pictures. She hopes to have them back to families by the week of Sept. 20th. Fall picture re-takes will be Tuesday, Oct. 5th at 8:30am. Be sure to watch your e-mail for your students “proof” if you selected to have it sent to you.
LCS is currently looking to hire a special education paraprofessional and substitute teachers. If you are interested or know someone who is, please have them contact the office or myself. Applications can be found online. https://lafayettecharter.k12.mn.us/job-opportunities/
We are still taking bios for school board positions for a community member and parents. Please contact me if you have any questions or are interested in serving.
Reminder, there is no school on Friday, Sept. 17th due to teacher workshop day.
School-Linked Mental Health Services- Sioux Trails Mental Health Services
LCS is excited to partner with Sioux Trails Mental Health services for the 2021/22 school year. School Linked Mental Health (SLMH) increases accessibility of mental health services for underserved populations by providing outpatient therapy and CTSS services within the school setting. Referrals can be made through your child’s teacher or the LCS Director (Mrs. Clobes) and will be routed to Sioux Trails professionals working within that school setting. More information is available upon request.
LCS is looking for garden produce to use for our Ag, snack & lunch program. If you or anyone you know has extras from their garden, feel free to bring it in. Thank you!
