What’s New at LCS

Thank you from all of us!

On behalf of all staff, THANK YOU for all the kind words, gifts, meals and snacks during teacher appreciation week. We are so lucky to have a community of supportive and generous families like all of you. We also celebrated School Lunch Hero Day on May 6th. Thank you Ann for always cooking up delicious and nutritious meals for us.

It’s hard to believe all the testing is complete. The students worked so hard and we are thankful! The weather is starting to feel like spring & the last few weeks of the school year are upon us. We have a busy & fun schedule coming up so please encourage your students to continue to work hard & show us their “Magical Moments”. Students enjoyed their first Friday drawing with our new Plinko board. Keep up the kindness!!

This week, the Pre-K students will be going on a field trip to Mrs. Reinhart’s farm on Tuesday. Mrs. Bruss will also have her last piano practice for our piano students on Tuesday. The piano students will be sharing their talents with us before our spring concert. Our long time volunteer, grandma Jo Ann Portner, will be meeting with students one last time this week. This is her last year volunteering at LCS and we cannot express how grateful we are for her. She brought a smile to everyones face and we will miss her terribly. Thank you Jo Ann for your time & dedication to LCS!!

The busiest week of the school year, Charter School Week, is just around the corner. Check out the poster below to see a schedule of the week and the dress up days. PROS is still looking for donations of silent auction items. If you’d like to make a donation, please bring it to the office. The plant sale will also be open for purchases.

As always, contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

Mrs. Clobes

Bingo Helpers Needed

LCS PROS is looking for another round of individuals to help with Bingo at Dave’s Place of Lafayette on Saturday, May 21st, 2022 from 1pm-5pm. Volunteers will assist Lion’s members with Bingo. The Lafayette Lion’s are big supporters of LCS; this is one way we can give back. We try to help with 2 Bingo events a year.

Family Picnic

LCS’s end of the year family picnic is Friday, May 20th beginning at 11am.

Families/friends will need to bring their own lunches and students have the option to order a sack lunch through school. We hope the weather cooperates and we can host all events outdoors. Please bring blankets or lawn chairs as limited picnic tables are available. Families can wait outside and teachers will bring the students out to meet you.

LCS PROS will be hosting a silent auction fundraiser & the greenhouse will be open for purchases. We encourage all families to check it out!

There will also be an early out at 1pm. Students are allowed to leave with their families but must sign out with their teacher.

LCS Yearbook

Yearbook order forms and payment are due by Friday, May 13th. Students will receive their yearbooks by Friday, May 20th.

Thrivent Grants

If anyone has a Thrivent Action Team grant available, please consider using it for LCS. Contact us if you’re wanting to team up to support an LCS program. We greatly appreciate the consideration!
