Happy Charter School Week!
We are down to our last full week of school. The students have worked so hard all school year; thank you families for supporting them and all school staff as well. We’ve planned a week full of fun activities but learning will still continue. Here is a quick run down of our week:
Monday- Head gear day: Students can wear hats/sunglasses/mustaches or whatever you want on your head or face.
Tuesday- Dress as your favorite character day- reading buddies activities. The Women’s Auxiliary of Lafayette will be here at the end of the day handing out a treat for all students. Join us at 6pm for the Spring Music Concert (please have students at school by 5:45pm).
Wednesday- Wear Comfy/Athletic Clothes- Track & Field Day- students will be outside for most of the day. Make sure they have tennis shoes, a water bottle & wear sun screen.
Thursday- Classroom Theme Day- watch for a message from your child’s teacher. We will also have a special suprise for all students Thursday afternoon- stay tuned! The Pre-K students will have their last day of school.
Friday- Class Color Day- Each classroom will pick their own color to wear. Watch for a message from your child’s teacher. 6th-8th graders will be ditch cleaning in the morning. Don’t forget about our family picnic at 11am & early out at 1pm.
8th grade families: Save the Date!
Wednesday, May 25th will be the 8th grade graduation ceremony. There will be a social hour with cookies & coffee starting at 9:00am followed by the ceremony at 9:30am. We will have an early out at 1pm.
The LCS greenhouse is open for business! Stop by any day from 2:30-3:30pm to make purchases; everything is $1 or $2 per plant. We will also be open during the family picnic and Saturday, May 21st from 9-12pm. All proceeds go back to the LCS Agriculture program.
As always, contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,
Mrs. Clobes
Bingo Helpers Needed
LCS PROS is still looking for another round of individuals to help with Bingo at Dave’s Place of Lafayette on Saturday, May 21st, 2022 from 1pm-5pm. Volunteers will assist Lion’s members with Bingo. The Lafayette Lion’s are big supporters of LCS; this is one way we can give back. We try to help with 2 Bingo events a year.
Family Picnic
LCS’s end of the year family picnic is Friday, May 20th beginning at 11am.
Families/friends will need to bring their own lunches and students have the option to order a sack lunch through school. We hope the weather cooperates and we can host all events outdoors. Please bring blankets or lawn chairs as limited picnic tables are available. Families can wait outside and teachers will bring the students out to meet you.
LCS PROS will be hosting a silent auction fundraiser & the greenhouse will be open for purchases. We encourage all families to check it out!
There will also be an early out at 1pm. Students are allowed to leave with their families but must sign out with their teacher.
Thrivent Grants
If anyone has a Thrivent Action Team grant available, please consider using it for LCS. Contact us if you’re wanting to team up to support an LCS program. We greatly appreciate the consideration!
