Ditch Clean-Up

Want a way to get out, get exercise and help the community? Twice a year our 7/8th grades do HWY clean up along 15- this year we won’t be able to do that as class this spring but you can help keep our community clean. We are looking for families who would like to volunteer for the LCS highway clean-up project. You would have a small section of the road and we can provide safety vest, gloves, garbage bags and the link to the safety video. Contact Mrs. Petersen if you’re interested.

Letter from our School Nurse, Jennifer Seeley

Hello Lafayette Charter School,

I sure have missed seeing all of you at school and look forward to the day we can get back to a more normal schedule.  Just some reminders for summer as we all go out to play while keeping social distancing.  Make sure to use sunscreen and reapply often especially after you have been in the water.  Remember that those rays can get through even if it’s cloudy.  Remember to use a life jacket when out on the water.   We can still have fun while staying safe.

Remember to stay home if you are sick.  Watch for these symptoms:  Fever of 100.4 F or greater, cough or recent change in cough, shortness of breath.  These 6 symptoms have also been added chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headaches, and sore throat.  More information is available on the CDC website or at MDH.

There are those that need immunizations before coming back to school.  I believe the Department of Health will communicate when those will be able to be administered again.  The biggest change is that it is now recommended to have the Meningitis booster for 16 years and older.  It would be recommended to take your 16 year old in to have the booster this summer or when they turn 16.  I will update as we know more of how we are moving forward with coming back to school in the fall.

To those who have meds at school; whether it be daily or as needed.  Please call the office to arrange a time to pick up meds.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Till we meet again.  Have a great summer!

Jennifer Seeley, School Nurse
