Lafayette Public Charter School

April 25th-29th, 2022

What’s New at LCS

Can you believe we’re wrapping up the last week of April already? Although the weather doesn’t feel like spring, the signs of spring are all over LCS! Our chicks hatched and found new homes (thank you to those who gave them a new home), students are busy everyday in the green house caring for the plants & flowers, MCA testing is wrapped up, and field trips are starting! We have an exciting few weeks planned for our hard working & deserving students.

Thank you to the LCS students and staff for all their hard work last week (in celebration of Earth Day) cleaning up around Lafayette and the school grounds. The weather wasn’t the greatest, but the students were troopers.

Throughout the month of May, LCS will be celebrating charter schools. We’re looking for families/parents/grandparents to tell us why they love Lafayette Public Charter School. Responses can be sent to your child’s teacher or the LCS office at Thank you for your participation! We also have extra LCS lawn signs available at school. If you’d like one to proudly display at your home, let me know.

This week brings us to mid-quarter. Please watch for either mid-terms to be e-mailed home or contact from your child’s teacher. It is also the last week of Makerspace & after school tutoring. On Wednesday, we welcome families & community members in for Community Coffee with 6th-8th grade starting at 2:15pm.

Watch for field trip permssion slips to come home this week for Kindergarten-8th graders. We will be venturing to AMazn’n Farmyard in Eden Valley, MN on Monday, May 23rd. The cost is $5 per student. Permission slips and money can be returned to your child’s teacher or the LCS Office.

Reminder- Friday is early out at 1pm for teacher workshop.

As always, contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

Mrs. Clobes
