What’s New at LCS

clobes@lafayettecharter.k12.mn.us

I hope everyone had a wonderful spring break and were able to spend time with your loved ones. We have a busy week coming up- here’s a peak at our week:

This week we celebrate National Volunteer Week. We have 2 volunteers that come in every Monday-Wednesday mornings that work with our LCS students and/or help our teachers. JoAnn & Paulette, thank you for your time and dedication to our school- your committment is MUCH appreciated and we love having you here.

On Tuesday we will have MCA testing with 5th & 8th grade Science and any other make-up testing that needs to be completed. Thank you students for trying your best and adjusting to schedule changes this month. We will have a reward day towards the end of the school year to celebrate your hard work!

We only have 2 more weeks left of after school tutoring and Makerspace. Students are busy wrapping up those projects- we’re hoping to have some of them on display at the spring music concert in May.

On Thursday, Pre-K students have a field trip to Mrs. Reinharts farm & our 8th graders (and myself) will be touring the New Ulm High School. We will wrap up the week with Earth Day on Friday. Our week’s are starting to get busy with various events & activities; please know that keeping a routine and consistency are very important to us.

Our chicks in Mrs. Reinhart’s room finally decided to hatch last Thursday. The students were able to watch the hatching live- it was so exciting! We will be contacting those that were interested in taking chicks this week. We hope to have them ready to go by Wednesday.

As always, contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

Mrs. Clobes
