What’s New at LCS
petersen@lafayettecharter.k12.mn.us
Hello LCS Families,
I hope this finds each and every one of you well. As you know, per the Governor’s Executive Order, we are to remain closed through the remainder of the school year. This brings such a sense of sadness to all of the staff here at school and I am sure for you at home. We will continue to provide distance learning opportunities though the rest of the school year. We strive to provide the best experience possible and appreciate feedback from families regarding what is working and what isn’t. Our belief is that we are in collaboration with you and your input is paramount to everything we do especially now! Please continue to let us know how we can help and improve.
A few Questions
We are thinking of offering summer school and would like to know if anyone would be interested in participating. Most likely it would follow the distance learning model that we are using now. Once we get a feel for the interest level from families we will supply more details. Please contact the office if you would like to see summer school offered.
We know that you, as parents, have a lot on your plates. One of the things that can be a struggle for some students is motivation. My question is: what is working for you to motivate your students? What is the most challenging part of distance learning? What can we do to help you? Please e-mail me with your thoughts on any or all of these questions.
Welcome Back and Many Thanks
Last week was Mrs. Muscatello’s last week as the long-term substitute in 3rd and 4th grades. We want to extend our sincere gratitude for all she has done. Not only did she jump in as a long-term sub but she happily embraced teaching distance learning. We are so grateful. Thank-you Mrs. Muscatello!
With that, we welcome Mrs. Walters back from her leave. We are confident that the transition will be smooth and everyone will adjust.
