What’s New at LCS

Thank you for your cooperation last week with the school closings and delays. Our first priority is our students and keeping them, our LCS families and LCS staff safe. Reminder that when we have a 2 hour hours late, school will begin at 10:10am. An automated text message, phone call and e-mail will be sent. We also post our school closures/delays on Kare 11, KSTP, WCCO, Fox 9, KEYC tv stations and their websites. We also post on KNUJ radio & website. If you have any issues or would like to add a phone number or e-mail to our notification system, please let Megan know.

This week brings the end of 2nd quarter. Please watch for student report cards to come home mid-next week. We also have an early out on Friday, Jan. 14th for teacher in-service.

On Tuesday, PROS will meet at 3:15pm in the technology lab. Any new members are welcome to join us! If you have any questions, let me know.

Students have been busy prepping for their Ag Fair projects. If you’d like to make a donation for student projects, we’re always looking for tag board. Contact Mrs. Walters if you have any questions.

As always, contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

Mrs. Clobes

Supporting Long-term Care Facilities in Minnesota Communities

To begin addressing critical staffing shortages in Minnesota’s long-term care facilities MDe has set a goal to recruit, train and deploy at least 1,000 new certified nursing assistants (CNAs) by the end of January. The program covers costs for tuition, fees and materials, as well as transportation and technology support for students. CNA programs throughout the state are ready to enroll and train students. Once trained, the CNAs will be eligible for employment at Minnesota long-term care facilities that are facing severe staffing shortages. Interested Minnesotans can visit the Minnesota Office of Higher Education website for more information.

Makerspace will be every Tuesday beginning January 18th from 3-4:30pm through April. Watch the LCS Messenger and/or text messages or e-mails from the school in regards to announcements or cancellations.

Please contact Mrs. Reinhart with any questions about Makerspace or if you would like to help out with materials or supervision.

Makerspace is located in the STEAM room at LCS. Permission slips have gone out and can be returned to the office.
